OK I know I'm supposed to get crackin' on my thesis (woe is me), but I stumbled upon THIS and I'm just really irritated right now and need to let off some steam.
Tell me your response isn't WTF.
What does it say about our country that the education system still involves the issue of race after almost 51 years of independence? There are so many things so wrong in the article, I can't even think straight now. But the quotes by the PPIM director in this article are a good start, they're just simply priceless, like this one:
"If [the opening of UiTM to non-Malays] is allowed to happen, then there will be a worrying situation where many Malay institutions will crumble and be 'Malaysia-nised'."
and this one:
"It is hoped that the exclusiveness of UiTM is not undermined by anyone and it be allowed to continue as an institution that will strengthen the Malays."
OK first of all, why would the "non-exclusiveness" of UiTM in any way mean that the "strengthening of Malays" would be jeopardised? Secondly, what the hell is wrong with being 'Malaysia-nised'? Nabeh I thought we were supposed to be Bangsa Malaysia and be united and look beyond our racial differences and all that shit?
To the leaders of our country (for now), you wanna know why patriotism in this country among young people is so low it takes an Olympic gold-medal match to see our support for the country? You wanna know why you got your asses whooped in March? You wanna know why Anwar is getting so much support and your pathetic attempt to smear him isn't working? This is why. Because you have shit like this going on in your country and you can't or don't do anything about it, and allow the shit to hit the fan and get coverage in the freakin' mainstream media. Even if Anwar is really evil and plans to exterminate the Chinese and Indians once he gains power, he doesn't freakin' show it. He espouses equality for all, which is what us, the lowly rakyat, want so desperately now. And its working, 'cos in a public perception crisis what matters the most is what the people think about you (which, if you couldn't tell, is really BAD stuff), and not whether you're really innocent or guilty.
And the most disturbing thing is that there is actually a need to have a separate university for Malays to 'strengthen' themselves. I mean seriously?! Anybody with half a brain (cell) can see through that blasted idiot director's pompous statement that UiTM is soooo exclusive and holiao and whatever to the underlying message: The Malays are so [insert adjective of your choice here] that they cannot handle competition from other races.
On a completely unrelated note, I wonder why the so-called brain drain in our country is getting worse and worse......
*cracks head for 14 hours thinking of a reason*
Aiyo I cannot think of a reason lah. Our country is tersangat de wonderful. [/sarcasm]
You know what? Fuck you. Fuck you and your University of Impossibly Thickheaded Morons. We don't wanna study there any more than you wanna let us.
